The Ten Core Values are distinctives that make Third Day unique.  These values are the DNA of the church.  They are the building blocks of ministry.  Although the church is more than these values, these are areas of emphasis.

FAITH

Third Day Victory values preaching and teaching faith in Jesus and His Word because faith is the key to life in Christ. We believe the scriptures are given by inspiration of the Holy Spirit and are the highest authority in life. When the Word of God is heard and received by faith, its power always fulfills its promise. Through the life-giving ministry of the Word in teaching, preaching, worship, and prayer, faith is nurtured and the full gospel of Jesus Christ is manifest in saving, blessing, guiding, healing, delivering, and prospering. Although our primary focus is the Lordship of Jesus and service unto Him at any cost, we also believe it is His good pleasure to give us the kingdom as sons and daughters. By faith we please Him, receive promises, move mountains, work miracles, and even lay our lives down for Christ.

GIVING

Third Day Victory values the giving of time, talents, and treasures to others and the church for His glory. God set the example of this by giving us His only Son. We believe that God in turn calls us to give freely in every area of life – first to God, and then to others. The Word directs us to bless God with the first fruits of our labor and then to prayerfully listen and give accordingly. Our role is to be good stewards of God’s blessing by giving freely of our time, talents, and treasures. Third Day is a body that gives generously, believing that God provides ALL of our needs according to His riches in glory. We will indeed reap generously as we sow generously into each other’s lives. God promises us abundant life. We believe this extends to all areas of our life, including our finances and personal ministries.

SUPPLICATION

Third Day Victory values supplications, prayers, and intercessions as the primary ministry of the church. Jesus says His church is to be a House of Prayer. He does not call her a house of teaching, or a house of evangelism, or any other house. Prayer is the focus. Prayer reminds us of our dependence, and keeps us humble, worshipful, and ready to listen. What we do springs forth from time spent at the feet of the Father. Intercession keeps us alert and responsive to the work of the enemy, and the move of the Spirit. Our battle is not against flesh and blood, but against spiritual forces. Before effective ground war takes place (i.e. individual ministries, programs, meetings, etc.), effective air campaigning must be realized.

LOVE

Third Day Victory values living and ministering in love towards others because every person is a precious creation of God. Because man is created in the image and likeness of God, all people are equal in His sight and should be treated with the highest respect and consideration. The value of man is demonstrated by the price paid to redeem him…the precious blood of Jesus, poured out for the salvation of all. Through regular opportunities to ‘consider one another in order to stir up love and good deeds,’ we seek to actively and demonstrably love others. Loving God and others is the goal. Even as we zealously seek spiritual gifts, the focus is not the gift, but the fruit that is produced in.

TEENS TO TOTS

Third Day Victory values investing heavily in teens and tots because they are a blessing and our future. Just as a man entrusts his fortune to his heirs, the Lord has entrusted His children to parents and the body of Christ. We welcome youth as a vital part of our church. They have much to offer. Even a little investment now offers the hope of a great return in the future. Third Day values giving time and resources to youth with the expectation that they can walk in giftedness and obedience to the Lord. Children and youth are a blessing to us and are central to our church.

WORSHIP

Third Day Victory values passionate worship as central to our Christian experience. The book of Corinthians states that the weapons of our warfare are mighty in God. Praise is one of those weapons. With it we overcome strongholds (2 Cor. 10:4), displace spiritual oppression (Isaiah 61:3), renew our minds (Heb. 13:15), and wage spiritual warfare (Psalm 149:6). However, it is more than a weapon. In worship we draw near to God, and He draws near to us. Worship is one of the greatest ways to bring intimacy with Christ and glorify Him in the midst of life’s difficulties. Beyond singing, worship is a life of obedience to the Lord (Romans 12:1). It is better to obey than to offer lip service. That being said, praise is vital because it offers a unique power to transform the heart and mind. Let us do as the Psalmist proclaims and, “Sing your praise to the Lord.”

HEALING

Third Day Victory values pursuing spiritual and physical healing because both are in the atonement of Christ. Just as sickness was introduced as a result of the curse when man fell in the garden, Jesus provides healing as part of salvation through His death and resurrection. In addition to the blood of Jesus bringing forgiveness of sin, His stripes bring healing in every area of life. Although Christians struggle with sickness and sin, health and holiness are promises we hold onto.

GOVERNMENT

Third Day Victory values a government of empowering order in the life and ministry of the church. God has given His church power and authority to rule and be the life-giving force in society. To be effective in our mission, God created the church to be both relational and structural – an orderly government based on serving and preferring one another in love. The effect of this government is the nurturing, training, empowering, and sending of people for further works of service. The pastors of Third Day have submitted themselves to the government of Victory Churches and have been sent by them for this new work. Victory Churches USA is Third Day’s accountability, counsel, and covering. As leadership walks under authority, the church ministers the gospel with power and authority in the sphere God has given her.

HOLY SPIRIT

Third Day Victory values pursuing the full manifestation and ministry of the Holy Spirit for the purpose of building up the body of Christ. At Third Day Victory we seek to foster an atmosphere of orderly freedom as set forth in the Word. We desire to see the work of the Spirit in our services and meetings in all of the gifts mentioned in scripture. At the same time, we acknowledge that the work of the Spirit is greater than just the gifts of the Spirit. However, our distinction is that the gifts of tongues, prophecy, healing, words of knowledge, and miracles have not passed away. They are available, needed, and good. Because the manifestation gifts are a part of the Gospel, we need not be ashamed of them. Rather, we should be zealous for them.

CHURCH PLANTING

Third Day Victory values expansion of the kingdom through church planting. One of the greatest characteristics of the Kingdom of God is that it grows and multiplies just as a tree grows tall while producing seed to create a forest. (Matt 13:33) Every tree has a limit on how big it can grow, but no limit on reproduction. Church planting allows people room to rise up in their giftedness and calling, and keeps us passionate about reaching the lost. We value reproduction and not just growth. Therefore, we value strategic and purposeful planting even if the daughter church grows up just across the street. To be kingdom minded is to be forest minded with the goal of covering the entire earth. (Psalm 2:8)
